The Edublog Award(s)

Even though I was feeling awful -yep, now it was a cold, one of the side-effects of having 9 cute nieces/nephews one can’t help but eating up-, I sort of attended the Edublog Awards (in Spain: Sunday 00:00). And I say ’sort of’ because a) I had to download Second Life to my laptop at the eleventh hour, b) The Edtech live stream didn’t work, at least on my Vista laptop  -yes, I know…-, c) I was working with a 3g connection. So I followed the awards with the Second Life chatbridge for about 15 minutes (I remember asking for help about the live stream and no one replied).  Anyway, that’s how I knew Jeffrey Hill’s blog won the Best Individual Blog (with approx 30 finalists) award: congrats Jeffrey! And this blog you’re reading now, which is looking for a new name, a.k.a. E|FL2.0, was the runner-up. Not too bad, That’s why I WOULD LIKE TO THANK all the people who supported this blog with their vote. Thank you very much for being there and I hope to see you around.

They have published the list of winners here and I got an email from James Farmer as well. I’ve asked them to make the results publicly available (i.e. the number of votes), I guess it’d be nice to know how many votes each of us got and the runner-ups of every category. I haven’t got a reply…

Aunque me encontraba fatal -sí, ahora ha sido un fuerte resfriado, uno de los efectos secundarios de tener a 9 sobrin@s que comerse a besos - asistí de alguna manera a los premios Edublog (aquí en España era en la madrugada del sábado a domingo, a medianoche). Y digo de alguna manera porque a) tuve que descargarme Second Life al portátil en el último momento, b) la difusión live streaming de Edtech no funcionaba al menos en mi portátil Vista - ya sé lo que me vais a decir…-, c) funcionaba con una conexión 3g. Así que seguí la entrega a través del chatbridge que montaron, unos 15 minutos (recuerdo haber preguntado por lo del live streaming y que la gente no respondiera, como si no existieras). Es igual, la cuestión es que fue así como super que el blog de Jeffrey Hill ganó en la categoría de Best Individual Blog (con unos 30 finalistas): felicidades Jeffrey! Y este blog que estáis leyendo ahora, el que está buscando un nombre nuevo, el también conocido por E|FL2.0, ha sido el segundo. No está mal, ME GUSTARÍA AGRADECER a todas las personas que habéis apoyado este blog con vuestro voto. Muchísimas gracias por estar ahí y espero veros por aquí.

Han publicado la lista de ganadores de todas las categorías aquí y he recibido un email de James Farmer también. Les he preguntado si van a hacer públicos los resultados finales, con los números de votos, creo que sería bonito saber cuántos votos obtuvimos cada finalista y el nombre de los segundos y terceros lugares de cada categoría. No he obtenido respuesta, ni por email ni en el blog de los Eddies…
