I am currently a DPhil student in Information, Communication and the Social Sciences at the Oxford Internet Institute, with the support of a Talentia Excellence Grant of the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Science & Entrerprise of Andalusia (Spain).
I am interested in studying the processes of transformation that higher education institutions are currently facing, particularly through the incorporation of innovative uses of new media and digital practices into their activity.
I am one of the members of the coordination board of the programme Espacio-Red de Prácticas y Culturas Digitales at the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA), along with Juan Freire, Tíscar Lara, Isidro Maya, and Llanos Mora. This programme is directed by Francis Pisani and was launched in 2008.
From 2006 until 2008 I worked at UNIA, managing some projects on digital communications and visual corporate identity.
I studied a Licenciatura in Comunicación Audiovisual (comparable to a 4-years BA in Media Studies) at the University of Seville and hold a MA in Digital Technologies, Information and Communication and a Postgraduate Certificate in e-Learning, both from the School of Education at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). I have been also awarded with an Iniciarte Grant, of the Regional Ministry of Culture of Andalusia (Spain), to study a Postgraduate Certificate in Visual Culture at the Manchester Institute for Innovation & Research in Art & Design (MIRIAD) of the Manchester Metropolitan University.
During 2005 I taught Aesthetics Communication at the School of Communication of the University of Seville and from 2002 until 2006 I was a member of the coordination committee of ZEMOS98 International Festival at Seville (Spain).
Before entering the “university life” I had the opportunity to take the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
